Meet me in the pouring rain

Kiss me on the sidewalk
Take away the pain

fooooooh. I was so scared that my internet would die on me just now. But when I clicked the start button to shut it down, pwhhhooops! the blogger page magically reappeared!

mmmmmm I was enthralled by The Darkangel. By Meredith Ann Pierce. It's a sci-fi kind of fantasy.

It was awesome. Blew my head off just like that. baBooom!

I usually don't like sci-fi or fantasy and weird world settings in a book(paranormal rocks tho ;), but this book, phwoar, this book is goddamn awesome.
Pardon the language, but I think the monkeys who sit behind me poisoned my use of language. I swore in the ladies today, and all the girls turned and glare at me. Little did I know that that was a veryveryvery crude word. sorry!

I really liked this book. It's about adventures and friggin cool fantasy stuff and fancy words(I had a hard time figuring out the vocab) and sacrifice. That was the main theme in the story. Life is no picnic, doll. You gotta give some in order to get some. But sometimes, you get nothing back. Slave girl Aeriel sets out to avenge her friend/mistress who had the life sucked outta her by the darkangel aka vampyre aka icarus(thank god, i knew this one. Thanks Ms Dorothy for the anthrology texties!). Slave girl is spared by the vampyre because his dozen and one wives aka wraiths need new kirtles aka gowns and gowns need maids. So yeah, Aeriel begins her new life at the icarus's castle, and with help with the friendly neighbourhood duaborough. Or something like that. A dwarf might have been easier, Ms Pierce. My eyes do tend to get a lil blur with hard-to-spell-and-prononce words. hees. oh, and back to tale. Story ain't in her dictionary (:

Aeriel does her job by spinning dresses while listening to the wraiths nag up and down until she gets fed up and agrees to slay the evil vampyre(who is, surprisingly, not your typical sexy bloodsucker) thus departs on the 6 day-months adventure for the apparatus and materials for the destroying-the-villian science project.

She also falls in love unknowingly with you-know-who. Romance is subtle here, pity. Like, seriously, only a teaspoon or less. I was expecting a helllotta hot-smouldering scenes but sadly none came. No matter, I was not disappointed. (even though a lil' smut wouldn't have hurt xD )

I loved the ending. *censored to protect ladylike appearence*, was it a good ending. Caught me off guard and everything. Sacrifice is a big deal.

btw, I found this bombshell in the school library. Finally, a decent book in the school library. My book-drought has ended. And not a penny spent. Oh, and this is the first book in the trilogy which was penned in 1978. or 75. I hate numbers.

tata for now. Band practice-omg!marching!!- awaits.

yes I caught you looking at me and hellyeah i was flattered. and happy too.

hug a tree,

they have less issues than people.

sunsets are beautiful. The way the blue mixes with the orange, reds and pink. it's breathtaking.

So for some ahemmm reasons, my mom switched car. From the 40-year-old virgin to the 50-year-old virgin. Okay, lets just say the saga is a tad bit older than me. You do know my maths suck.

Oh yeh, it doesn't have air-cond too. Bummer. Rolled down the windows, stucked our heads out in the highway acting stupid like doing peace signs until mom yelled at us through all the noise honk honk beep beep rude gestures.

It was like being five again when I sat on daddy's lap handing the ticket to the uncle who sat in the toll booth. Or when daddy picked ah bii up to let him slide the 1U ticket into the yellow machine even though there was a huge line behind.

my beh paiseh daddy. i miss you, i miss your smile, and i still shed a tear, every once every while. (:

tumbling rants, filled with randomness. excusez moi ;D

I hate pills. I seriously don't like them. If I'm gonna die, it will probably be about one of the humongous-life-threatening sickly pills that went down the wrong hole and choked me to death. Either that or my chinese teacher heard me talking about her see-through underwear who later then murdered me with a super heavy dictionary. plonk.

how vivid. I still prefer the colouful liquid type. Except the omg-ewww-get-a-way-from-me-monster cough medicine. I'd take pills over that everyday. and yes, I'm suffering from a sore throat and a flu. Very H1N1 eh? xD *sneeeze*

With all the form 3 and 5 seniors gone, our band room does seem bigger and a less crowded. Plus it isn't that humiliating anymore when you're the only one who screwed up bar 15. phweeesh. seniors, begone haha nah just kiddin

& i HEART percussion. Everybody is so friendly and huggable =D
my favourite is still the snare-SWOOOON- and today I also fell in love with castanets!

clickerklaterclicklaterclackclack <3 Malaguena is such a great score. and so easy! oh yeah anddd guiro! the sound it makes zweeeeeeep zweeeeeeep zwiiiiiiiiit zwiiiiiit makes me laugh.

randomfact: my favourite piece is Freedom Forever-what a stupid title, like Kapten Hassan- because teeee heeee i get the drumset and i LOVE clanging the cymbals!

:D buh bye. do come back.

there goes the sun, and it's alright (:

She'd be home.

I love book fairs.
I would seriously sleep with 'em.

So, I was weirded out when my granpap called me and shouted these:
"Book fair ah! Eeeng wen shee!Lei tai ah!" over the severely crackled phone. And shocked to the core when I arrived at Carrefour to see a sign reading "BOOK FAIR LAST DAY RM5".

whoah whoa. Okay. I'm in Penang, which also means this place has no sufficiently stuffed English bookstore whatsover, and this thing lands so neatly in my way? In Carrefour? Don't they only sell cheese and baguettes?
oh yah, their potato bread's awesome btw (:

I'm still thanking my lucky stars, if you were wondering. These books quenched my thirst since I left Queensbay's Borders. And they were all going for only- RM5!

*does the dance of the dying then reincarnated cockroach hula hula*

thankyouthankyouthankyou iloveyou carrefoursbookfairorganiser whoever you are =D

My family lingered there, the small corner surrounded by supermarket stuff, picking up and leafing through books. Lots and lots of them. The scent of a book is so wonderful. It calms me down, the papery-smell, rolls and rolls of parchment. mmmm. Anyone with me hees?

My little brother endorsed in a picture book filled with colourful trucks, sister's imagination flying with fairies, and mommy laughing quietly over a "How to be a Better Mom" title. I feel the strong warmth and happy glow, of having a good book in your hands. It makes glad to see such a lovely scene.

oh god. how sappy can I get? god. i might as well start belting out Barney's ending theme on the top of my lungs.

So. I bought The Last Summer(of you and me) by Ann Brashares, Laguna Cove by Alyson Noel, Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot and Tallulah Falls. I've finished Princess- hilarious, Cabot's witty humour had me in stitches- and Laguna Cove- huh. Nothing really special- and Tallulah Falls. The beginning of The Last Summer was a real bore so I put it off. Might pick it up after the Undead series.

Tallulah Falls by Christine Fletcher. A surprise. A winner.

I figured that I had it with flimsy, non-insightful girlies, so I wanted to get real.
And Tallulah Falls gave me that. It gave me real.
What caught my eye amongst the pile of books was its beautiful cover. The cover took my breath away. It has been ages, ages since I come across such a beautiful cover. The girl and the dog, they looked so serene, so peaceful. So faraway. If it hadn't been for the gorgeous cover, I would have put it down and moved on to yet another girl-meets-boy stereotype.

After meeting Maeve, a 21-year-old bipolar, Debbie Badowski dyes her hair, gets a tattoo and changes her name to Tallulah Addy. Tallulah leaves Oregon impulsively in search of Maeve, after getting a frantic phonecall from her. Never did she know she'll end up broke and stranded in rural Tennessee, and that rescuing a dog lands her a job in the local vet's office. Whooh. Tallulah's relationship with Dr. Poteet, the grim vet with a sorrowful past, motherly Ruth who she stays with and her co-worker, the tall and lean Kyle-whom she may or may not have feelings for- is so real they walk off the page. The plot is deep and engaging, and the setting, Tennessee
is vividly realistic. Tallulah Falls is a story wonderfully written, honest and painful, of a stubborn yet strong girl, overcoming all the storms in her journey to find herself.

Blew me away. Best book I've read this year.

'They were just wildflowers, the same ones Tallulah had seen choking the ditches, dotting the unmoved strips of grass. But Kyle's bouquet held two dozen at least, with three, four, five ... eight different kinds of blooms, all in the bright loudmouth colors she loved.' -Tallulah Falls by Christine Fletcher
An excerpt.

PS Just so you know, I went back to the book fair last Sat. Turns out the sign saying "LAST DAY" was a real fake. I bet it's still hanging there if there are still book left. The prices had dropped to RM3. Grabbed Emil and Karl, Undead and Unemployed by MaryJanice Davidson and one more. I forgot the name. Don't worry, it ain't sex manual ;D

life is a maze and love is a riddle

You Belong With Me by Taylor is a nice vid. Sweet, predictable happily-ever-afters, something everyone wants.

I'd always loved Science classes. I mean, going to the science lab is the greatest. You can enjoy munching on Rockies and chat the day period away with your also chatty friends, catch up on homework or just relax. Usually that means having a lil' nap in the dark, cosy science lab. mmmm.

Too bad I don't have anyone to snuggle with.
): phwooee

haha. Well, I'm glad I aced in my recent exams. Guess that after the pain has gone, you do get back normal. Normal with some deeply-appreciated scoring superpowers (:

School's still the same ol' loony bin, no different from here and there, cranky teachers and murderous peers. The discipline teacher forced me to get a fringe. Ran into the toilet stalls and had a small sob. I dislike change.

Just so you know, I pushed the fringe outta my face forehead, and yeah worked around it. Accepted it, got used to it, and moved on.

A smile shines again on my face.

Still gotta mention this though, things get a little different after mid-year.
You get along better with your seatmate, the monkeys behind you, the girls in your class, the crazy boys, the teachers know your name, and even though the cute guy in class still has not said a word to you, you catch his eye once in a while.

Enough to have you quit lingering in the past and move on. Go on.

Giggles and whispers with the gals, hooting and screaming with the guys, life does seems okay.

This Saturday is a public holiday. Finally a Saturday which I don't need to wake up early to. Band practice, cancelled.
Woots! ;D

Drumming. I think I'm serious. (= yay. I have reached my calling LOL where did THAT came from??

tata for now hees :DDD

BUT guess what? My sister actually said this:
"I like John Connor."

-then turned a deep shade of pink after mom and I burst out laughing.
not that i'm against christian bale or anything, no. but you really should have seen the look in her face, she was in awe.

I'm sorry if I'd hurt you. I didn't mean to. I never knew that it would cut right through you. I had assume with her by your side, you would have gotten over it. Way over it.
I thought wrong.

It's okay that you didn't tell me. I didn't need all that awkwardness too(even though I seriously doubt that). And yes, what's wrong with being friends? Why are you questioning that? You think I would make some dramatic exit of a pyscho ex? Um. Not my way of doing things. (that you ask Ming Zhao. he'd be happy I assure you)

Did you read toooo much fiction? YA overdose? Cause I'm reality.

I'm serious, really. Warts and all.
You know you're over it. Maybe a few scratched scars, but it will be fine. Must be fine by now right? Awww, c'mon! Get your butt off the ground and entwined your fingers with hers! Hurry!

Ohyeah, anyone heard the song "Don't Trust Me" by 3OH!3? Catchy but naughty. Like, very, very dirty. it's no surprise-Daughtry pun intended- I like it. heh.

pooo. back to slaving over the stupid kesihatan folio. yup, it's way past working time but that's the way I roll.
(= hugs.

You were the best English teacher. Cool, fun and entertaining. Thanks for marking my papers. You allowed me to have my say in it, unfold my potential in writing. I've still tresure them in my files. (I swear I won't use swear words again!) You'll be okay, Mdm Doreen. Soon enough you'll be fit to shout to those noisy students in your loud, booming voice.

Good luck with your new girl. Don't make the same mistakes as I did.

Why oh why do you have to confuse me? Act all happy and funny when you're hiding something beneath. Stop it. Let it go.

Eunice ahh eunice... my blog is not even half dead, it's DEAD.
The zombie kind, though. Undead.
facebook dead, nuffnang dead, plurk dead, letters also dead. omg exams, so gonna BE dead.

Resident Evil dead-isshh!
*Zombie with icky tongue hanging out*
Use your imagination ;D
Okay, Imma a little too scared to put a zombie picture here. Must be the Deja Vu my mom and I watched yesterday. Great movie-too bad I missed the explosion at the beginning-, awesome plot but, deja vu gives me heebie jeebies. Eeeesh.

Oh yeah, remember the last post, messy scribbles and all? I left in a great hurry for tuition, didn't I?

I went to the centre, hopped off the car, and went up the flight up stairs.
Only to find that tuition had been cancelled.

I know, major dotdotdot moment.

Whattodo? Sigh, I was daydreaming in class, kays?

Went back downstairs but my grandad had already driven off.

Whattodo, again? Sigh, walk home.

My house wasn't far, two or three blocks away only methinks, and I had been walking a lot lately with Fels, exploring my neighbourhood y'know? so yeahlah, balik rumah jalan kaki.

The only drawback was it already was kind of dark and in case you haven't notice, I'm a girl :D . Therefore had to be careful or risk being chopped into whoknowshowmany pieces. *shiver*

I got home safely, thanks.

Friday, Labour Day...mmm, considered a while getting bangs and another ear-piercing, but shrugged off the thought later. A wedding dinner was on the schedule, was flipping through my rather limited-space closet box when my oh-so-stylish aunt came to my rescue.

Aunt. Thrusts zebra print top at me. Runs away.

here's a picture :D

And, I shall stop here. I'd probably continue on scribbling on a next post and be stopped by my mom saying-no, not saying- ahem, SCREECHING:

"YOU NOTHING TO DO AH?? HAR? SO FREE? GO DO YOUR HOMEWORK LAH!! GO STUDYYYYY!"

Thursday, April 30, 2009

.

okay. I neglected my blog. This month, especially.
I'm sorry )=

Honestly. I just didn't feel like sharing. It was like I was the kid in the park who got the biggest scoop of of ice-cream and I didn't want to share with the other kiddies.

Must be the pig flu.

*laughs*

Sorry yeah, folks.

My blog's getting duller and duller each day, yet I find the things in my life getting brighter. Seriously.

#1 My fab friends. Friend, for this photo. This is Felicia ans she believes in splurging on food and MNG. Love her.

#2 omg ketua disiplin called. *guffaws* FYI Everytime he calls, I'll always be in the car AND when I call, he too would be heading to somewhere in vehicle. He told me that currently he's into reading. Novels. Whoa. Like finally I influence him in something good rather than dying his brain yellow.

pssssst bitch alert bitch alert!! (remember HLVs?)

ummmmmmm I have tuition I really gotta go but I be back soon to complete this.
